January 20 2013 in Ein Karem

Signing vows documentsThis year, January 20 was marked by our brothers Junior and Tiago’s renewal of their temporary vows and by the perpetual vows of our brother Carlos.
The new apostolic nuncio, Msgr. Giuseppe Lazarotto, presided over the celebration. More than 100 persons were present. To be especially mentioned are the Sisters of Sion who had come for a meeting on formation, the students of the Spanish and Portuguese program, Tiago’s many friends, in particular the Salesians with whom he is studying theology at Ratisbonne, and members of the Hebrew-speaking Catholic community, the “kehila”, where he is one of those who help with the musical animation of the liturgy.

In Father Mary's house

On the eve of January 20, we had a short family vigil in Father Marie- Alphonse’s house. There, we remembered together this “event” with thanksgiving; it continues to be a source of inspiration for the whole “Family of Our Lady of Sion”.

“Sometimes people ask what is January 20. It’s simple.

January 20 is a light, and in that light: SION, JERUSALEM.

I testify to this, my dear sisters: I saw these two names written

in the heart of the most Blessed Virgin

on January 20, 1842.”
